Staying in Touch During your Job in Spain
By choosing the Costa del Sol as a location for your career in Spain, you will be able to take advantage of some of southern Europe's most modern infrastructure and communications.
Malaga International Airport is the fourth largest in Spain in terms of passenger numbers and is currently undergoing major upgrading. On completion in 2010, Malaga Airport will be one of the most modern in Europe with 2 terminals, 2 runways and an integrated train and bus station, and have the capacity to receive more than 20 million passengers annually (almost double its current number). Numerous flights are available to European destinations with the UK and Ireland being the best-served - there are daily flights to most UK airports - meaning it is easy and convenient to keep in touch with your home country while you work in Spain. This is an essential consideration for recruitment abroad.
Spain's high-speed train (AVE) network recently arrived in Malaga cutting the journey time between Malaga and Madrid to just over 2 and a half hours. The AVE network also runs to Seville and beyond Madrid, to Barcelona and Valladolid. The network will eventually extend to the rest of Spain and connect with the French TGV service at the border with France.
If you are planning to buy a car while you are working in Spain, you will be pleased to hear that the Costa del Sol has an excellent road network. A fast toll motorway (AP-7) runs the length of the Costa del Sol and is a useful alternative to the slower and more congested A-7. Dual-carriageways extend beyond the Costa del Sol to other Andalucian cities such as Granada, Cordoba and Seville, with Madrid around 6 hours' drive away.
